Nicholas Puglisi

Nicholas "Nick" Puglisi graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting from Iona College in 1983. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the States of New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, and a nationally recognized Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified in Financial Forensics. Nick has over 30 years of extensive and diverse public accounting experience, which encompasses in-depth tax planning, preparation and audit representation obtaining financing for client expansion, estate planning, forensic services and financial statements including entities publicly traded and IPO’s.
Alison Caputo
JD, Tax Manager
Alison J. Caputo is an attorney and tax manager at PMG since 2017. Alison concentrates her efforts in-house working on tax law interpretation and compliance, and overseeing and reviewing the preparation of complex tax returns. Alison also assists with high-level management and administration of the firm. Alison attained her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 1983, and achieved the honor of being the youngest graduate in her class at the age of 19. Upon graduation from NYU, Alison embarked on a career in finance, and worked as a junior credit analyst and money market trader assistant at two international banks. Alison then spent several years raising her two children before gaining employment at a law firm in 2004. Alison enrolled in the Pace University School of Law in September 2009 and worked as a legal assistant and law clerk throughout her studies before attaining her Juris Doctor degree with cum laude honors from Pace in January 2013. Alison was admitted to the New York and New Jersey State Bars, the Federal Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York, and the Federal District Court of New Jersey, in 2013. Alison is a former civil litigator, who practiced in the areas of debtor-creditor law, medical malpractice defense, and family law matters.

Steven Brecher is a graduate of Boston University College of Business Administration and a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Business. He has been a NJ Certified Public Accountant since 1973. He also has extensive experience in Tax, Auditing and Financial Reporting.

Daniel Iessi is a full-time junior accountant at PMG Certified Public Accountants LLP. He joined the team in January 2022. Daniel attended Manhattanville College from 2014 - 2018 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also attended Iona College from 2018 – 2020 and graduated with a master’s degree in accounting.

We are pleased to announce that Roya Hoss has joined our organization as a tax and business valuation analyst. Roya has an MBA degree from the University of New Haven with a concentration in accounting & is a Certified Valuation Analyst; and she is currently pursuing her CPA designation. Before graduate school, Roya was a stock trader and a fundamental industry analyst with a brokerage firm in her home country. She has passion for the development of a more integrated global financial system; she considers collaboration and unity as an ethical responsibility. |
Sasha Puglisi
Junior Accountant
Sasha Puglisi graduated in 2018 from Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Health Psych and Counseling. While studying at Emmanuel she played 4 years of college basketball. Sasha then worked for 4 years at a therapeutic school in Boston. Currently, at PMG Sasha’s duties are related to administrative tasks and client bookkeeping.

Varsha Mezger graduated from The Flinders University of South Australia with a double major in Bachelor of Economics (Accounting).
She has been an Australian Certified Practicing Accountant since 1997. She has worked in Sydney and London and New York in both finance, taxation and internal audit capacities for 29 years.
Joanne Caputo
Administration & Billing
Joanne Caputo graduated from St Johns University with a double major in elementary education and psychology. She then established a career in finance for over 40 years working for two international banks in New York City and two large retail banks. While she was working, she was series 7 and 63 licensed and a notary for the State of New Jersey. She also held her NMLS number for working with mortgage referrals. Joanne is an administrator at PMG handling human resources, billing, and firm and client relationship matters.
Sunitha Pillappa

Sunitha Pillappa is a Junior Accountant at PMG Certified Public Accountants LLP. She earned her M.S. in Accounting from Pace University in 2025 and is working toward becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She assists with the preparation of individual and business tax returns and supports various accounting and client service functions. Sunitha is known for her attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and enjoys continuing to build her expertise in taxation and accounting.
Louis Ferrante

Louis Ferrante is a senior accountant at PMG. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York, a Chartered Financial Analyst, and is accredited in business valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Louis provides business valuation and financial advisory services relating to closely held businesses, partnership interests, and complex equity securities, including business enterprise valuations, equity and partnership interest appraisals, shareholder and partnership dispute consulting, estate and gift tax valuations, and transaction advisory services.
Prior to his current role, Louis held several senior executive and financial positions, including Senior Accounting Executive at a Big Four public accounting firm, Co-Chief Investment Officer of a $10 billion public pension fund, and Chief Operating Officer of a multi-billion-dollar family office. He has also served as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chair of a $5 billion mutual fund complex and as an Adjunct Accounting Instructor at Pace University.

He is a results-driven finance professional with more than 30 years of experience across both the public and private sectors, including consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, wholesale distribution, service, construction, and retail industries.
Prior to joining PMG, Steven worked closely with founders, CEOs, and private equity firms to support business growth initiatives, secure capital, and implement strategic and operational improvements. His work has helped organizations scale effectively and position themselves for successful exits.

Yan Zhang is a full-time Junior Accountant at PMG Certified Public Accountants LLP. She is an experienced accounting professional with over six years of accounting experience in the United States, along with eight years of experience working with international companies in Shanghai, China. She has a strong background in bookkeeping and cross-border business operations.
Yan earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Madison Area Technical College in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, completed in 2011.
Denise Zablow

Having worked as an administrative assistant for most of her adult life, Denise is a calm and measured presence on the telephone and in the office. She previously served as an administrator for Edward D. Heben, CPA, PC. Following our merger with Edward D. Heben, CPA, PC, Denise joined our team, where she continues to serve in an administrative role while assisting with client communications and office operations.
Denise also worked for several large law firms in New York City. She enjoyed the work, the intense pressure, collaborating with partners, and interacting with clients.
